Festival At The Fort

October 1 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

The Festival at Fort Willow is an annual event where visitors will experience what life was like at Fort Willow pre-European contact, during the Fur Trade and the War of 1812.
 
Festival go-ers can:
Touch and feel items traded during the fur trade between Indigenous peoples and Europeans
Lives and traditions of Indigenous Peoples
Learn about traditional blacksmithing and carpentry
See how food was made by settlers
Muster-up and march in the King’s army
Listen to the cannons roar
 
Schedule of Events:
On the Hour (00 min): Cannon Demonstration
At Quarter After Hour (15 min): Mini Militia (muster up and march in the King’s army!)
On the Half-Hour (30 min): Musket Demonstration
Ongoing demonstrations throughout the day: candle making, rope making, cooking demonstration, Barrie Art Club “Relay” Painting, Wandering Minstrels, local period musicians.
