Summer is almost here – time to really start enjoying the nice weather and enjoying all that Peel Region has to offer!  Peel Region is full of great day trips for kids such as Chinguacousy Park, Downey’s Farm, Creditview Park, or Heartlake Conservation Area. Or maybe you are looking for a Stroller or Baby Friendly Hike, either way we got your covered!

But before we jump into summer with both feet lets enjoy all that June has to offer before school is out for the summer!  There are lots of fun things to do in Brampton and Mississauga in June!   1. The Mississauga Ukrainian Festival – Saturday, June 1, 2019 –11:00am to 11:00pm
    Celebrating its fifth year at Mississauga Celebration Square. This family celebration of Ukrainian culture includes an exciting line-up of entertainment, cultural exhibits, artisan works and a refreshment garden. Bring the whole family and enjoy children’s amusement, craft programs, authentic Ukrainian food and more.

    Learn about fitness and wellness from our community partners, checkout a free Zumba class or try out a scavenger hunt.

    This summer, enjoy the time-honoured tradition of English Afternoon Tea combined with a tour of the Benares Historic House. With more than 165 years of history, this exquisite Georgian style estate was home to four generations of the Harris and Sayers families. Noted for its quiet presence in a picturesque park-like setting – Benares is filled top to bottom with original family possessions spanning 4 generations.     Bike the trails this June with Toronto and Region Conservation Authority and discover the hidden beauty of your neighbourhood! Join us as we guide you along bike routes in Brampton while highlighting interesting facts about the landscape and local wildlife. Tours will include how to set up a bike, safety tips, and more! 
    This program is designed for beginner riders of all ages and free rental bikes and helmets are available courtesy of Bike Brampton.

  9. KiteFest – Heartlake Conservation Area June 8th-June 9th
    We bring the beauty and colour of kites to the skies of Brampton! There is also a variety of Food, Entertainment, Music and great Vendors. Kite Fest has proven to be a great and well attended event in years past, and we only want to continue to create excitement within our Multicultural GTA.

  3. Mississauga Waterfront Festival – Friday, June 14th through to Sunday, June 16th, 2019 
    The MWF attracts over 70,000 people to the village of Port Credit over the course of the three-day weekend to enjoy live outdoor concerts, family activities, food and entertainment.   This year’s Festival will take place Friday, June 14th through to Sunday, June 16th, 2019 in the picturesque Port Credit Memorial Park.

  4. Rosalea Guided Bike Tour – Friday June 14th 7:00PM-9:00PM
    ​Bike the trails this June with Toronto and Region Conservation Authority and discover the hidden beauty of your neighbourhood!  Join us as we guide you along bike routes in Brampton while highlighting interesting facts about the landscape and local wildlife.  Tours will include how to set up a bike, safety tips, and more!

  5. Brampton Farmers Market Opening – Saturday June 15th 7AM-1PM
    ​Spend your Saturday mornings at the market. Shop local farmers and vendors, and learn something new. Enjoy free feature demonstrations, from cooking to gardening, and everything in between! The Farmer’s Market is open from 7 AM – 1 PM.

  6. Run for Nature – Claireville Conservation Area Saturday June 15th 
    ​Toronto and Region Conservation will be hosting a Kids’ Run for Nature at Claireville Conservation Area in collaboration with World Wildlife Fund Canada to celebrate wildlife and the natural heritage and recreational value of the Humber River watershed. The fun run is a 1 kilometre, 3 kilometre, and 5 kilometre trail run giving kids the chance to get active in nature and raise funds for the wildlife they love and TRCA. This year, the Humber River celebrates 20 years as a Canadian Heritage River, and this event will celebrate and empower youth to help protect the River, local nature, and wildlife for future generations.  There is a $15.00 non-refundable registration fee for this event.  All runners will receive a headband, runner bib and participant ribbon!

    Bring the whole family for a double-header screening of two box office hits every Saturday evening. Come early to take part in pre-movie activities like meeting costumed characters, pop-up performances, giveaways, and more. Bring your lawn chair and settle in for an evening full of family-friendly fun in Garden Square.
