If you grew up in the 80’s you would be familiar with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, TMNT for short. I can remember playing with the TMNT figurines and acting out scenes with my friends as a child for hours on end. The hardest part was deciding on who was going to play each character. When we decided to have a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Party to celebrate Little Bears 2nd birthday I knew it would be a lot of fun and of course no party is complete without delicious food for everyone to enjoy, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Decorations.! Here are our Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle inspired birthday party food ideas that the kids absolutely loved:
There was no question as to what we would be serving as the main meal at the TMNT party – Pizza of course! The TMNT were pizza obsessed, so we let our own little ninja turtles create their own pizzas for lunch. Using round naan bread (you could also use pita bread) each child could top their pizza with cheese, pepperoni, peppers, onions and more. Then we popped them in the oven to bake for 15 mins before serving to our hungry superheros.
Fighting crime is a tough job so don’t forget beverages to keep everyone refreshed. We opted for “Sewer Water” and “Toxic Ooze” (aka Mountain Dew) for the party. I picked up some plastic TMNT cups for $1 each from Target (I have also seen them at Walmart and Dollarama) and printed out stickers with the name of each child in it. This eliminates the “Is this my cup?” question and is a great little gift to take home after the party.
No birthday party is complete without dessert. For this party we stuck with the TMNT theme and enjoyed cupcakes decorated with icing in TMNT colours and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Cupcake Toppers (purchased from Etsy Canada), as well as ice cream pizza! I picked up Dairy Queen “Treatzza Pizza” – they come in awesome varieties including Skor (my favorite), Smarties (the kids favorite) and peanut butter fudge. This was the perfect way to end Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles inspired party!
Everyone had so much fun at this party and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle theme is so fun to work with. Make sure you check out our posts on party decorations, games and party favours!

I love this idea! My library is doing a superhero theme this summer and this would be perfect for one of the days. Thanks for sharing such a great idea (that I will be stealing).
Please do, hope it is a great success!
What a fun theme! We loved TMNT when were kids, and our kids love them too! I especially like the “sewer water” — just gross enough for my boys!
What fun, I can’t believe these guys made such a huge comeback! I love the pizza theme and it sure takes care of dessert doesn’t it. Plus “sewer water” had me chuckling! Hope the party was a success!
Awesome! Love this whole party spread. It’s not a TMNT party without the pizza.
Its hard to believe that the turtles made such a come back!! The party spread looks amazing! Love the idea of a dessert pizza.
When my son will be a bit older, I’m sure he will like to have one party on this theme! The idea of the “sewer water” bottle made me laugh so much! Awesome!
Love these ideas very cool
