The FOLD – The Festival of Literary Diversity – May 2-5, 2019 – The Festival of Literary Diversity (FOLD) celebrates diversity in literature by promoting diverse authors and stories in Brampton, Ontario – one of Canada’s most culturally diverse cities.  The FOLD includes more than 30 unique sessions over four days with over thirty of Canada’s most exciting authors in historic downtown Brampton May 2-5, 2019 with sessions at the Rose Theatre, City Hall and Peel Art Gallery and Museum Archives (PAMA).the festival of literary diversity brampton
    3. Cineplex Family Favourites Movies Instant Family – May 4, 2019 – $2.99 family favourite movies continue every Saturday at 11:00 a.m. It’s a fun and affordable way to enjoy time with your family and friends! A portion of the proceeds goes towards supporting WE Charity.

    6. Churchville Jane’s Walk – May 4, 2019 – On the first weekend of May every year, Jane’s Walk festivals take place in hundreds of cities around the world. Jane’s Walks encourage people to share stories about their neighbourhoods, discover unseen aspects of their communities, and use walking as a way to connect with their neighbours.  Join in on Saturday, May 4th from 9:30 to 11:30 AM for a citizen-led walking tour of Brampton’s historic Village of Churchville. Experience the scenic views of the Credit River and unique rural setting of Churchville – a hidden gem within Brampton. The Inaugural Brampton Run for Veterans – May 4, 2019 – The Inaugural Brampton Run for Veterans is a charity run to support the Royal Canadian Legion in it’s mandate to support Veterans.  $50 registration fee, fee will be refunded if the runner fundraises more than $200. Team Challenge – We are challenging military and first responders to take the team challenge and prove who wears the best uniform! Veteran Owned Business booths on scene, show your support!  Runners will receive Legion Hats and Medals.

    8. Mother’s Day Tea and Quilt Exhibition – May 5, 2019 – Bovaird House annual Mother’s day tea (tickets must be purchased in advance) The Friends of Bovaird House are excited to be partnering with the Brampton Quilters’ Guild for our first ever Quilt Exhibition and Show!  Come out and support a local Brampton group, learn more about quilts, and enter a raffle to win one!bovaird house mothers day tea and quilt show

Brampton Comic and Collectibles Show – May 5, 2019 -10:00am to 4:00pm – Lion’s Banquet Hall (45 Avondale Blvd L6T1H1) Door Prizes Every Hour.  Amazing knowledgeable vendors selling of types of Comic Books, from the popular $1 bins, and up, graded and non graded books. Cleaning, pressing, and submitting to CGC services available.   8. Science Rendezvous at Ryerson University and Mississauga Central Library – Saturday May 11, 2019 – Science Rendezvous is an annual festival held across Canada showcasing the Art in Science. This year’s theme is “S.T.E.A.M. Big!” and will emphasize science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM) research and innovation. Phulkari Embroidery Workshop – May 11, 2019 – PAMA – As part of our fashion and diversity series explore the intricacy and beauty of Phulkari, a form of ancient embroidery, facilitated by Oakville’s Rafia Shafiq. Each student will leave the workshop with their own embroidery piece, learn the history of the lost technique and enjoy an afternoon of tea and sweets.  Public: $35 (includes general admission).  Pre-registration required.
