It is no secret that I love the Niagara Falls area. Ever since Hubs and I went on our first vacation as a couple there back when we were dating it has always held a special place in my heart. No matter what kind of getaway you are looking for there is so much to do, which is why I enjoy taking the kids there for little vacations as well. It is far enough away from Toronto to feel like a vacation, but still a very manageable drive with 3 young kids. Recently we visited the Americana Waterpark Resort with its recently opened Boston Pizza Americana and had so much fun! Just take a look at our adventure:
Americana Waterpark Resort
The Americana Waterpark Resort is your “one stop shop” if you are looking for a fun family vacation with young children. First let’s check out the Waves Indoor Waterpark. Even though it was November you would not know it inside Waves! This waterpark was the perfect size for our family. Big enough that there are lots of options for where the kids want to play, but small enough that you can still find each other if you divide up in teams to play in separate areas.
The wave pool was a hit with all 3 kids. Baby Roo enjoyed playing near the edge of the pool, but also loved being up in my water sling so she could be in the wave pool with me and helped me be a little more hands free.
There are life jackets available to borrow if your child needs one so you don’t need to worry about bringing your own. They also have towels available in the Waterpark area. However you need to return them to the waterpark. So you may want to bring your own towels or housecoats to wear between the waterpark and your hotel room.
Monkey was tall enough to go on the body slide by himself, and he LOVED them. There are 2 body slides that have a height restriction of 42 inches. My sister and I also had fun going down the body slides too.
There are also several smaller slides that were perfect for Little Bear to enjoy. While he was unsure about going down by himself at first after taking one ride with me he was running off to go down them again all on his own.
After a fun day of playing at the Americana Waterpark we had worked up an appetite! Boston Pizza recently opened up a new location within the Americana Waterpark Resort. That is right we didn’t even have to step outside the front door of the hotel to enjoy all of the delicious offerings from Boston Pizza. And we did just that.
Taking the kids to Boston Pizza is always a pleasure as they have an extensive kids menu that is part of a larger booklet that is filled with activities that are adapted to be fun for both younger and older kids. The kids all picked different items for dinner – Monkey enjoyed pizza, Little Bear choose pasta, and baby Roo… well let’s just say she enjoyed her mini burgers.
My sister and I enjoyed a well deserved beverage with dinner, and of course a dinner at Boston Pizza is not complete without enjoying one of their tasty desserts.
So what if you are hungry for a late night snack? Or if you don’t feel like going down to the restaurant for food? Boston Pizza offers in room delivery! That’s right if the kids are sleeping and you are relaxing watching a movie in your room you can get chicken wings (and a whole host of other menu items) delivered right to your door.
Speaking of doors, the 2 bedroom suite that we stayed in was perfect for our group of 6 – 3 adults and 3 kids. With 3 Queen beds and 2 divided sleeping areas we had LOTS of space for everyone. Each room at the Americana Waterpark Resort has a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Perfect for storing leftovers to heat up for later, or if you bring your own food. The 2 bedroom suite also included a table with 5 chairs so that you had a place to sit and eat if you wish. Plus there is a Food Basics right next door to the hotel if you wanted to pick up snacks or some finger foods and fruit for breakfast.
The Americana Waterpark Resort is located a 20 minute drive from the Horseshoe Falls, you can easily pop down to the waterfront to enjoy the sights at Niagara Falls before heading back to continue your fun at the hotel. We had a great stay at the Americana Waterpark Resort, and the boys have already been asking when we can go back again. I think next time I will have to book some “mommy time” at the Senses Spa at the resort while hubs entertains the kids.
Can’t get away for a night? That is OK, the Americana Waterpark Resort also offers day passes as well. Check out the Americana Waterpark Resort and Boston Pizza Americana the next time you are planning a family trip, or if you are local to the area pop in for a day of play. The waterpark’s year-round tropical weather makes this destination the perfect escape to splash away your winter worries.

Your family is so cute! glad you had a great time! We went there in october and the kids loved it! 🙂
Looks like loads of fun?
Looks like it a great place to stay in Niagara Falls. We haven’t been to that area for several years, we should really plan a trip one of these days.
I really like how the waterpark caters to very little ones. My little guy is 2 years old and would love to play in the water with his brother, who is also timid but LOVES wading pools. 🙂 I’ll have to look into this place.
I would love to have a weekend like this with the kids. So convenient to have everything all in one place.. good eats, waterpark fun, & nice room to chill out in!
