Museum of Nature Review – Nature Up Close

Want to visit with the dinosaurs, dive deep into the depths of the ocean, and get face to face with some of Canada’s most amazing animals???  Then you need to visit the Museum of Nature in Ottawa!  While I was at my conference during our Ottawa vacation my mom and Monkey made sure to take in some fun.  One of their adventures included a trip to the Museum of Nature – filled with dinosaurs and fish tanks… every little boys dream!museum of nature

This kid friendly museum featured large realistic displays and many interactive exhibits that allow children to touch and explore in their own way. The Fossil Gallery is a must see for your little dinosaur hunter.  With over 30 complete skeletons and 15 life-sized models you will be sure to be taking about T-Rex and Triceratops for days to come.

We were able to cover most of the exhibits in half a day leaving lots of time to take in a 3D movie or a live show during a day trip to the Museum of Nature.  You can find a full list of daily activities, crafts and more on the website.  The bird gallery offers a hands on learning experience for budding birders where they can learn about the many species of birds in Canada as well as about protecting and caring for injured birds.  museum of nature ottawa

  1. Very cool – hadn’t heard of this before! Our daughter loves nature so she’d really enjoy this experience! We’re in Ottawa periodically so we’ll definitely have to add it to the agenda on one of our trips. Thanks for sharing!
