Our Home Away From Home at the Courtyard Marriott Philadelphia Langhorne Review

Our trip to Philadelphia and Langhorne, Pennsylvania was the first family vacation we took with both kids.  It is safe to say I was a little nervous about how everyone would do with the drive, change in routine, and all of the excitement Sesame Place and the other attractions we were planning to visit.  The best part about travelling as a family to Pennsylvania from Southern Ontario is that it is not too far – an 8 hour drive was something I was willing to take on with 2 young boys.  When we arrived at the Courtyard Marriott Hotel Philadelphia Langhorne I knew we had made the right choice – we found our home away from home.

The main purpose of our trip was to visit Sesame Place, an amusement & water park dedicated to all things Sesame Street.  The Courtyard Marriott Philadelphia Langhorne is near Sesame Place, and offers shuttle service that runs all day long to get you to and from the park.  Because you are only 5 minutes away from Sesame Place you can easily come back to the hotel for a little break, have lunch, or to let your kids have a nap.  The drivers who played sesame street music on the trips and sang along made even the trips to and from Sasame Place lots of fun.

All of the staff at Courtyard Marriott Philadelphia Langhorne were extremely friendly and helpful.  I loved how they engaged with the kids to ask about their day and shared in their excitement for the adventures we would be having.  I found them very knowledgeable and were able to answer all of my questions about restaurants, attractions and directions.  (For any Canadians that miss the Olive Garden, there is one near by!)

Our room was a standard room with 2 queen beds, we found it spacious enough to set up the play pen, portable toddler bed, and still have some room on the floor for the boys to play while we were getting ready for the day.

The family friendly atmosphere at the hotel made our stay comfortable and relaxing.  They have thought of all the little details such as colouring sheets at the breakfast buffet, to help keep the kids entertained while you finish up your tasty hot breakfast and children’s books in the lounge so you can sit and read a few stories together while waiting to head out for the day or to wind down in the evening.  Although we never had a chance to use it with our busy schedule the pool and hot tub looked extremely inviting, and there is a games room to help keep teens occupied.courtyard marriott langhorne philadelphia pennsylvania 4

The outdoor sitting areas, free wifi, and large business centre with free printing were additional amenities that were much appreciated during our stay.  For the days we went into Philadelphia and New Jersey the drive was about 30 minutes and very easy to navigate.  It was nice going into the city for the day, but then coming “home” to a more relaxing atmosphere.

We have stayed at 3 different Marriott hotels this year, and each one has been fantastic.  If you are planning a trip to Sesame Place and the Philadelphia area make sure you book your stay at Courtyard Marriott Philadelphia Langhorne.  Make your next family vacation on to remember with trips to Sesame Place, Academy of Natural History, Adventure Aquarium and more.

  1. Thanks for this recommendation. I have never taken my family to Philadelphia. I will give it a shot one day. 8 hours is an okay drive. I agree. Little things make all the difference when travelling with kids. I like people who genuinely like kids. Those are the sort that should be working at a hotel.
