When should I sign up for Brampton Daycares?
Typically for liscensed centres, I advise that you should sign up while your pregnant as often the waitlist can be up to 18 months especially for infant sports which are more difficult to obtain.
Is there any financial support available for Daycares in Brampton?
Many daycares in Brampton offer subsidized daycare spots if you qualify, which helps bring down the cost of daycare. Childcare subsidy rates depend on your families net income (Line 236) on taxes, and the number of children in care, and family composition (custody arrangements and living arragements). It can take up to two weeks to qualify so contact Peel Region Subsidy Childcare ahead of time. To be eligible to apply, you must meet the following criteria:
- be living in Peel with children age 12 and under.
- be employed or be attending school.
- have filed your previous year’s income tax return (if you arrived in Canada this year, you may provide your Canada Child Benefit (CCB) notice instead).
