Miller Drive Park – A MUST VISIT THIS SUMMER!
Location: map
Address: 87 Miller Drive, Georgetown
Age Range: 3-12 years old as many of the features are for bigger kids. Thumper is three and still needs alot of assistance in this park so I would definelty say it is more geared towards school aged kids.
Features: Two baby swings, small climbing aparatus, big saucer swing, u shaped monkey bars, climbing steps, a shaded seat at the top of the climber and a small slide and a large slide. Only cool feature this park has is a digger which I know lots of parents search for as little kids love playing with the diggers as not many parks have them.
A cool feature of Miller Drive Park is that it is a Biba Playground which means you can Download the Biba Playground app and access games that engage parents with their kids on the playground through the power of imagination and physical activity. And the great news is, they’re available on iOS and Android!
Surrounding park area: There is a sports field located right next to the park offering lots of space to play soccer, football or frisbee. There is also a porta potty located right next to the park – just incase the little can’t make it until they get home. There is also a walking trail surounding and running through the park so it gives you the opportunity to walk a little bit as well.
Accessibility: This park is accesible around the outside of the park, this park is also split into two sections with paved pathway between both of the parks making it easy to manuever a stroller and watch any older children. Unfortunately the park itself is woodchip so it is not wheel chair accessible.
Shade: There are quite a few big trees located nearby so there is some opportunities for shade as we have had an early dinner picnic in the shade at this park before our soccer practice.
Seating: There is two benches located in the park, one facing each park section.
Overall Assessment: This park is definetly for the more adventurous kid as this slide is very steep in my opinion. My three year old loved it the first time, however the second time it was a little wet and she flew quite far of the slide so it took some convincing for her to ride it again.
