I think it is finally safe to say that winter is over and the nice weather is here to say. After the blast of cold and hail we got mid-May I was starting to wonder if we would every be able to put away the winter gear. But now it looks like we can move on to planning summer activities – Picnics, pot lucks, backyard BBQs to name a few. I know our weekends are booking up fast. Looking at the calendar we only have 2 or 3 weekends between now and the end of July with nothing on the go. That means that I will be pulling out my fast but tasty recipes that I can whip up when we have guests over or to take with me when we travel to visit friends and family. This tasty hot creamy cheddar Bacon dip only requires 4 ingredients and is quick to make. And you know how I love easy nacho dip recipes, so this one fits right into my repertoire.
Hot Creamy Cheddar Bacon Dip
Kraft Canada just released a new product in Canadian stores, Philadelphia Creamy Cheddar. All the creamy goodness of cream cheese with a wonderful cheddar flavour. You can find it in your grocery store in the cream cheese section.
You know the saying bacon makes everything better, well in our house bacon and cheese make everything better. So when you put the two together it is nothing short of amazing. This dip is great hot, but just as delicious once it is cooled down making it a great low maintenance snack idea that you can out out for guests and forget about as it disappears. You could change up this recipe to add in finely diced onion or peppers if you have them on hand.
Hot Creamy Cheddar Bacon Dip
Ingredients
- 4 slices bacon cooked and crumbled
- 1 tub 227 g Philadelphia Creamy Cheddar Cream Cheese
- 1/4 cup Miracle Whip Spread
- 1 clove garlic minced
Instructions
- Pre-heat oven to 350ºF.
- Mix cream cheese, miracle Whip and garlic until blended
- Divide the bacon in half, and stir in half of the bacon, Save one half for garnish at the end.
- Spoon cream cheese mixture into small baking dish sprayed with cooking spray.
- Bake 25 min. or until heated through, topping with reserved bacon for the last 5 min.
- Serve and enjoy!
Serve with Tortilla chips, crackers or pita bread and you will be sure to see this dip disappear before your eyes. You could garnish with chopped parsley or chives in you have them in your garden.
