The Olympics only come around ever few years, so why not seize the opportunity to have some Olympic size fun when the do! Olympic Crafts for Preschoolers are a great way to introduce the fun of the Olympic games and keep kids busy at the same time. Summer or Winter Olympics it doesn’t matter this game is fun for all seasons, and really all ages can get involved. With minimal materials needed this Olympic games craft can easily be made at home or daycare. Monkey might not be ready to compete at the Olympic level in speed skating or ski jump, but he has been trying out his skills at Olympic Ring Toss! Monkey enjoyed practising his toss, while Little Bear was an expert of taking them back off the post. And if you need some more Olympic fun you can make edible Olympic medals or Olympic Torch Cupcakes!
Olympic Crafts for Preschoolers
Olympic Ring Toss is easy to make, and you probably have most of the supplies in your house already. The kids will have fun painting the plates and tubes to make the game. Here is what you will need:
Supplies
- 6 Paper Plates
- Paint – Red, Green, Blue, Yellow, Black
- Paint Brushes
- Scissors
- Cardboard tube – from paper towels etc
- Tape
Olympic Games Crafts
Directions
1 – Paint the rims of 5 paper plates in the Olympic colours (Red, green, blue, yellow, and black). Decorate 1 plate to become the base of the of the post, we incorporated all of the Olympic colours on the base plate. Paint the cardboard tube, we choose red for ours. Allow to dry.
2 – Cut out the centers of the 5 plates to create 5 coloured rings
3 – Cut out a circle from the base plate approximately the diameter of the cardboard tube. Insert the tube through the hole while the plate is laying flat on the table and secure with tape to create the base.
4 – Set up the base on the floor and have the children stand a few feet away, then have fun testing your skills at Olympic Ring Toss!
