How to Make The Best Baby Shower Desserts
As said before these mini desserts are incredibly simple to make, and a perfect treat for the mom-to-be and guests. The hardest part is allowing them to set properly. There are a few steps you have to take to create these delicious baby rattle oreo pops.
Step 1
Open up the large Oreo cookies either by twisting, prying gently with a knife, or heat them in the microwave for a few seconds to soften the filling
Step 2
Place the lollipop stick in the filling of the Oreo and press down gently, I find it works well if you create a little “groove” with a knife to remove some of the filling where the stick will go
Step 3
Melt a few chocolate wafers and place in a piping page with a fine tip – a sandwich bag with the corner snipped off works great too.
Step 4
Pipe a little bit of melted chocolate over the stick and filling and then place the top of the large Oreo on top. Press gently, and repeat for all remaining Oreos to create Oreo pops.
Step 5
For the Mini Oreos, heat batches of 10-15 in the microwave for 15 seconds, just enough to soften the filling. Then, open and press the filling side into the other end of the lollipop stick.
Step 6
Place a little bit of melted chocolate on the stick and replace the top to secure, now you have chocolate-covered Oreos to create DIY baby shower cookies.
Step 7
Allow to set for 20 minutes.
Step 8
While you wait for the oreos to set, melt 1 cup of chocolate wafers on medium heat. Make sure to stir frequently. Once melted if the chocolate is too thick to pour, you will want to add 1 tsp of vegetable oil at a time until you get the desired consistency. You want your chocolate to be a little runny but still thick enough to properly coat the oreos.
Step 9
Dip the cookies into or spoon the chocolate over them to coat both the large and small Oreos. Allow some of the excess chocolate to dip back into the bowl, and use a spoon to remove excess chocolate from the back of the “Rattle”. This will help prevent the pooling of chocolate while the rattle sets
Step 10
Place on a piece of wax paper or parchment paper and before the chocolate sets add your decorative candies and press gently into the chocolate to secure (toothpicks work great for this)
Step 11
Repeat for all remaining rattles and allow to set for 1 hour or until chocolate has hardened.
Step 12
Tie the decorate ribbon around the stick. Store in a sealed container in a cool location until serving.
These were a HUGE hit at the baby shower and were gobbled up quickly. Chocolate-covered Oreo baby shower desserts are a great addition to your baby shower menu.
If you need more tasty treats for your winter or summer baby shower you could also serve:

what a great idea for a baby shower, I have seen it done with cupcakes but this is much simplier and easier to do
Are these freezable?
These were a great idea and easy to make. Everyone enjoyed them!
How many days in advance can these be made? Such a cute idea!
If you keep them in the fridge after you make them you should be able to make them 3-5 days in advance. The only thing I can think of that would be an issue is watching what sprinkles you use. Anything bright red etc is more like to “bleed” colour into the chocolate. But if you put them into the fridge in an air tight container right after you make them I don’t think this will be an issue either.
