It looks as though it took hours to perfectly bake and then decorate, but it can be done in very little time if you have all the ingredients needed to assemble this cake. Plus, it is perfect for Batman lovers of all ages and stages in life. If you love KitKats and Batman, this cake is for you.
How to Make a Simple Batman Birthday Cake
This simple Batman birthday cake is so easy to put together you may be surprised. We used a boxed cake mix to bring this cake to life, but you could also use your favourite from-scratch cake recipe. It is truly up to you and how much time you have.
Just make sure that if you do use your own recipe, you bake the cakes in three 8 inch round cake pans. You can also choose to use your favorite frosting recipe, if you so desire. We chose to go with premade frosting, but again, that it entirely up to you.
If you do choose to make icing from scratch, try this Swiss Meringue Buttercream Recipe. Boxed cake mixes can actually create really delicious cakes like the Easy Nerf Gun Cake we made for my 8-year-old son’s birthday, so if you go that route you won’t be disappointed.

Batman KitKat Cake Recipe Instructions
Making a Batman KitKat Cake isn’t overly complicated, although the results look as though you spent hours baking and decorating. This cake is simply a boxed cake mix, that has around 12 KitKats Bars wrapped around the side.
They are all held together by ribbon to ensure that the KitKats don’t fall off. This DIY Batman Cake can be put together in about 1 hour. Now, you CAN choose to use the white chocolate KitKats to create this same effect with your own flair, but we choose to stick with the original kind for this cake.
Step 1
Bake your two 8 inch round cakes according to the box’s instructions. You will want to ensure that you follow those instructions carefully to create the desired result. Make sure that you allow your cakes to properly cool before icing them, otherwise, all the icing will drip off and create a mess, making it difficult to decorate properly.
Step 2
Place a layer of wax paper on top of a cake board to ensure easy transfer of the cake after icing. Put one layer of your baked cake on top of the cake board. Apply frosting to the top of the cake layer only.
Step 3
Place the second layer on top of the first one and ice the top. Place the third and final layer on top and ice the entire cake liberally, including the sides and top.
Step 4
Break your KitKats in half lengthwise, down the middle. You want to ensure that each piece has 2 sticks of KitKat. Carefully place your KitKats around the cake. Press them gently into the icing on the sides of the cake. This will help them stick. Once you have fully covered your sides of the cake with KitKats, tie a ribbon into a bow around the cake.
Step 5
Separate your yellow and brown M&Ms into two different bowls.
Step 6
Starting in the center, create the Batman symbol with the brown M&Ms.
Step 7
Surround the Batman symbol with your yellow M&Ms until the entire surface of the cake is fully covered.
Step 8
Serve and enjoy by cutting the cake into slices with two KitKats each per slice.
