Conservation Areas in Milton

There are many different conservation areas in Milton that you can visit with the kids. There are also several Summer Camps in Milton that your children can attend in the summer months. All of these great areas are great to visit with your children and have great Milton Hiking Trails.

Rattlesnake Point Conservation Area

7200 Appleby Line, Milton, ON L9E 0M9 – Rattlesnake Point Conservation Area is a fabulous place to visit with your kids in Milton. During the spring and summer months, there are several different activities that you can participate in  including nature trails. 

Whether you book a campsite for the weekend or enjoy a hike on one of the three trails, the conservation area is beautiful. Take in a beautiful view of the escarpment, view the Turkey Vultures as they careen across the sky, or take the kid geocaching along the trails.

Hilton Falls Conservation Area

4985 Campbellville Rd, Milton, ON L7P 0G3 – Hilton Falls Conservation Area combines rushing rivers and beautiful sprouting greenery. Take the kids mountain biking, go horseback riding or anything in between.

There is a lot to do at the Hilton Falls Conservation Area. From tranquil trails to gorgeous water features, there are always beautiful photo opportunities. There are even geocaches hidden around the surrounding area to be explored.

If you love exploring nature, Hilton Falls Conservation Area is a fabulous place to visit with your kids in Milton.

Things to do in Milton with Kids

Crawford Lake Conservation Area

3115 Conservation Rd, Milton, ON L9T 2X3 – Crawford Lake Conservation Area is home to a gooey maple syrup demonstration that is sure to please everyone’s taste buds but that isn’t the best part.

Take the kids to visit the reconstructed 15th Century Iroquoian village. Learn more about the day-to-day lives of the Iroquoian people who once inhabited the village. This is such a wonderful, educational experience for all involved.

There are so many different attractions in this conservation area, between lakes and trails, there is a lot you can take in.

Kelso Conservation Area

5234 Kelso Rd, Milton, ON L9E 0C6 – Kelso Conservation Area with a wide variety of trails up and down the escarpment, is a cyclist’s dream. Not into cycling? That’s fine. There are lots of hiking trails that are not for cyclists.

You can visit the historic lime kilns, which are actually remnants from the second world war. You can enjoy a little bit of history while you take in nature. Such a great learning experience for your children.

Love water? Go swimming or boating at the reservoir in the summer. You can even try stand-up paddleboarding, or take in a peaceful canoe ride. After a beautiful day of exploring, enjoy a picnic.

Kelso Conservation Area is a great spot in the summer and even hosts outdoor movie nights. Bring your popcorn and PJs and enjoy a great outdoor movie. Then, go on to your campsite for the evening and enjoy the starry sky.

Things to do in Milton with Kids

Robert Edmonson Conservation Area

10025 First Line Nassagaweya, Milton, ON L0P 1J0 – Robert Edmonson Conservation Area is one of the newest Halton region parks to join the conservation family. It is such a beautiful place to visit in Halton region.

Enjoy two kilometers of trails that take you through wetlands and forests. Enjoy nature, and pack a picnic lunch to enjoy on your journey.

You can bring your canoe and take a paddle through the reservoir or go fishing. They even host a Family Fishing Debry in the summer months. Create fantastic memories together at the Robert Edmonson Conservation Area.

Mountsberg Conservation Area

2259 Milburough Town Line, Campbellville, ON L0P 1B0 – Mountsberg Conservation Area offers a wide variety of seasonal experiences for your family to enjoy. Hike out to the sugar bush and learn how sap is tapped and made into syrup. You can even sample some delicious maple syrup on delicious pancakes.

Want to visit some raptors? Check out the Mountsberg Raptor Centre. If you would rather have some peace and quiet, check out the lookout trail. Pack a picnic and eat by the reservoir, or catch some fish.
