When is March Break in 2026?
Ontario schools are closed from Monday March 16th thru Friday March 20th, however some private schools or balanced year school dates may differ.
Outdoor Activities for March Break 2026:

Maple Syrup Farms and Festivals – Mountsberg and Kortright Conservation area are some of the local places holding Maple Syrup Festivals and Events. Canadian culture has some very specific icon images and maple syrup is one of them. Every year in March, you will find a variety of locations hosting Maple Syrup Festivals and Farms. This is why we have rounded up the Best Maple Syrup Festivals in Ontario that you should visit in 2025!
Treewalk Village – geared towards children aged 3-7 years old, however on both visits I saw 2 year olds enjoying the activity with parental support. This activity is available to all ages. If you have older kids 8+ they would enjoy the full treetop trekking. This is a 2 hour activity, and timeslots must currently be prebooked. Children can run wild and explore from treehouse to treehouse that are 8ft from the ground. Each treehouse is connected by nets, hammocks and wood bridges that challenge children’s abilities in a fun way. Overcome the obstacles and enjoy a slide ride to the ground.
Snow Tubing – While the snow is falling get out while you can to take part in this fun family activity. No fancy equipment or special skills needed to take part in this wintertime activity. You can make a day trip out of it, or have an overnight getaway depending on how much time you want to spend embracing the outdoors and how far you want to travel.

Skiing in Ontario – Going skiing in Ontario is a fabulous way to spend those cold winter months. There are several great Ontario Ski Resorts that you can choose from to visit. If you are looking for the best ski hills Ontario has to offer, you are in the right place.
Tobogganing – Winter is here and it is time to get out and play! Embracing all the fun that winter has to offer is key to making it through the short days and long cold nights. Tobogganing is a great way to embrace the snow! There are so many activities you can get out and enjoy outdoors during the winter, no need to stay cooped up inside.

Skating – When the weather turns cold and the snow starts to fall, many people look for great places to take their family ice skating. Ice skating is such a fun pastime in the winter months.

Get out and Enjoy a Hike – One of our favourite things to do lately has been to get OUTSIDE. It seems like we are spending so much time at home and in front of screens that we are making a really good effort to get out and enjoy the outdoors.
Just because we live in a city doesn’t mean there are not great hiking trails near me. There are lots of awesome places to hike near Toronto and you don’t need to drive for hours to find fun and challenging outdoor hikes.

Indoor Activities for March Break 2026
Indoor Playgrounds – Indoor playgrounds are a fantastic place to go with your children to keep them busy and active. Indoor playgrounds and play places are great for birthday parties, family get-togethers, and just burning off some energy.

If you visit a board game store, you can often find an area in the back that has a large game selection that you can try before you buy.
Escape Rooms – The thrill of racing against the clock to solve a puzzle is like no other. Escape rooms are an amazing activity for those who enjoy a challenge. If you are looking for what an escape room has to offer, you are in luck. There are several to choose from.
Indoor Rock Climbing – Rock climbing can be an amazing activity for all ages. There are several places to go Rock Climbing in Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton and the surrounding area. If you are looking for a great way to get active, get your adrenaline pumping, and enjoy some fun exercise, Indoor Rock climbing is a fantastic choice.
